The other week I was invited along to the opening of Sup and Chow in Cheltenham. It’s taken place of The Brown Jug on Bath Road and it’s quite an upgrade for us Cheltenham folk.
I took my mum along with me and we were greeted with a chilled glass of prosecco – if only this was the case every time I walked into an establishment.
We propped ourselves up at the bar and took in the new surroundings.
The bar still looks like a traditional pub but has some decorative additions to feast on.
The place extends quite far back into more seating and an outside area – this whole section can also be used as a function room for special events; which is always worth bearing in mind.
There are some lovely trinkets and items that make the place feel like it has that homely touch.
After a meander we returned to our spot near the bar and were presented with plenty of samples from the menu.
You can expect to find a full range of dishes to satisfy most; I even got to try mussels in a cream sauce for the first time – they were delicious!
There was also chicken wings with sweet chilli sauce, burgers, calamari, risotto and pork with apple sauce.
A great little taster of what is on offer at the Sup and Chow, I’ll be returning soon to delve into a full dish all to myself!
