These boots were made for walking

    February 27, 2018 /

You don’t get much for free these days do you? A smile or a piece of advice if you’re lucky; both wonderful things, but unlikely to keep you entertained for the day. Thankfully there is still one great way to spend a day which is completely free, and as Winter retreats and Spring starts to ease towards us, it becomes even more enjoyable. A good walk is a sure-fire way of dusting off the cobwebs and getting some good fresh air deep into your lungs. We’re spoilt for choice around Bristol: Within an easy walk of the city centre there’s the wonderful Ashton Court and Leigh Woods, both great places…

Give your hair the 5-star treatment at Stuart Holmes, Cheltenham.

    December 8, 2017 /

Stuart Holmes salon in Cheltenham is one of the town’s treasures. It is one of those places I feel completely confident in recommending to someone, even if that does mean it becomes increasingly popular. I was lucky enough to be invited along to their Black Friday Bloggers week and having already visited Stuart Holmes, there was no way I was turning that invitation down. Located in the town centre, opposite the town hall, the salon is in a prime location. Glistening in the late afternoon sun, helped along by their Christmas decorations, I entered the building along their red carpet already feeling a little bit glamorous. I checked in at…

A watch to be proud of

    October 2, 2017 /

I was recently contacted by a company called Awemix Watches, an exciting new social enterprise that donates 20% from every £20 watch sold, to charity. Certainly a watch to be proud of for the owners of Awemix Watches and those wearing them. I’ve since been wearing one of the watches designed to show support for the charity, Keeping Abreast for Breast Cancer. The charity supports women either with breast cancer or the hereditary BRCA gene, who are considering or undergoing immediate or delayed breast reconstruction.  Some of the money raised from Awemix Watches will go towards funding the services they offer which include: information, support and practical help, as well as…

Fashion brand &Sons needs your help

    August 3, 2016 /

Pioneering clothing brand &Sons embark on a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds in support of its launch. The innovative outfitters founded by Phil James, of Shadowplay, will seek to crowd fund £50,000 with a 45 day drive that was unveiled on Friday 22nd July 2016. Phil James said: “The idea for this project came about when I found myself trying to find clothes that were functional and hardwearing for my day job but also fashionable, comfortable and ultimately something I felt proud wearing. I also wanted a certain ‘look’ but found myself shopping around from several different websites. And so… &Sons was born, catering for a discerning customer looking for…

    The Little Bump Company

    August 1, 2015 /

Just for the record I’m not pregnant. However, I have heard from numerous friends who have had children, the struggles of finding comfortable yet non frumpy maternity wear. That is where The Little Bump Company comes in. A new boutique maternity and nursing specialist set in Montpelier, Cheltenham. They have been open for a few weeks now and I was kindly invited along to the launch. Eve Fernando, the owner, is passionate about bringing ultra stylish and comfortable clothes to women during every trimester of their pregnancy. Eve, along with her team are all trained at antenatal and postnatal care, offering more to their customers than just clothing. You can gain…

    Book review: Farfetch Curates Food

    May 2, 2015 /

If I had to pick the top four things I was passionate about I’d go with food, travel, fashion and photography. Luckily for me the people at Farfetch have gone and published a book that encompasses all of this. The idea behind Farfetch Curates Food is to give an insight into what is happening in the world of food and drink right now, taking us on a journey and exploring places like New York, London, Singapore and Sydney. Yet still retaining that fashion viewpoint by talking to Farfetch boutique owners as well as local chefs. The book is split up into different meal times with sections from food and fashion bloggers, including recipes,…
