Here comes the summer sun, oh, no wait it’s gone again. That’s pretty much how English Summer time goes. One minute you’re prancing around in shorts collecting all that precious vitamin D, the next you’re wrapping yourself in a warm cardie diving into Netflix. It is unpredictable to say the least.
One thing I can be sure of is heading to The Clarence Social on a Sunday and getting a damn good roast. Often debatable in the summer time but it would be cruel to deny yourself this, especially if it’s turned into cardie weather.
We had the whole gang together so we took some obligatory family snaps whilst reading the menu.
We tried out all the starter options including soup, cheesy risotto balls and garlicky prawns.
So far impressed. Then came the main event; you could choose from pork, beef, chicken and a veggie option. Accompanied by pickled red cabbage, kale, roasted veg, roasted crunchy spuds and a cracking portion of cauliflower cheese.
Finished off with a couple of puds to share around the table that none of us necessarily needed, yet had to have.
Having previously visited the Clarence Social before this visit, I knew they did good food but Sunday Roasts are often hard to get right however, these guys have nailed it.
