PiShop, Bristol

Pizza joints are popping up all over Bristol at the moment, all being added to our list of where to eat next. The one that immediately made it to the top was the new venture from the guys at Casamia; PiShop.

We wandered over one evening after work and were pleasantly surprised to see one of the chefs picking fresh ingredients from the small garden at the front of the restaurant.

We rushed inside, keen to grab a table as it seemed PiShop had already grabbed the attention of fellow foodies.

We managed to grab a great spot, within our own little cove that over looked the river outside but also allowed a sneaky peak of what was going on in the kitchen.

The menu is short and sweet; with your classic pizzas toppings and others that offer something a bit different. Torn between a few, we got our decisive heads on and went for a meat feast and a lamb, pickled cucumber & garden mint yogurt pizza.

There is a good selection of cocktails, so James and I picked out our favourites to whet the whistle, along with some olives whilst we waited for the main event.

My cocktail was sweet and James’ tangy; just the way we like them.

The pizzas arrived with large crusts and loaded with plenty of toppings.

The meat feast was a fine example of a classic and who knew yogurt and cucumber could work on a pizza?!

The venue feels fresh and clean, with white wash walls and the main pop of colour comes from various copper features, the cocktails and the tasty pizzas.  The atmosphere is relaxed; but could feel intimate depending on who you’re with.

Oh and if you’re feeling lazy, yet fancy, you can get PiShop pizzas on Deliveroo. Win-win.
