Having meat in my diet has dropped significantly in the last couple of years, not necessarily a conscious decision, it’s just something I’ve come accustomed to. We just don’t buy it that often and have found cheaper alternates that work just as well.
I’ve attended The Vegan Fest in Bristol a few times now and often come away thinking, maybe I could do this. The food tastes great and I’ve read numerous articles about the health benefits of giving up meat.
In theory it seems like a great idea however I think I know deep down I could never fully commit. But for those who are vegan or even those that want to live a healthier lifestyle, Cheltenham’s Not Just Juice bar can introduce you to the wonders of eating guilt-free and still feel like you’re indulging.
I was invited along a couple of weeks a go to try out some of their tasty treats.
There are plenty of drinks to choose from including freshly made smoothies and juices, with all different fruits involved. I stood there for a good 5 minutes deliberating over which one to have.
Before finally deciding on a blend of watermelon, pear, apple and kiwi which was very refreshing and got a thumbs up from my body as it started cleansing it.
There is also a great range of snacking foods that are made up of all good things including dates, almonds, coconut oil, cashews, cinnamon etc. Perfect for carrying around in your handbag when you get those hunger cravings.
Next up we tried the cheesecake, which was an amazing revelation – I can now eat cheesecake for breakfast, lunch and dinner without any judgement. I’ll just have to pop by Not Just Juice every week.
It was so creamy and varied in textures, but yet so light. An amazing creation that contains no nasty ingredients but just the natural good stuff that we all need more of in our diets.
There’s a lot more food on offer that I’m keen to try and see how it can improve my wellbeing. You can find Not Just Juice in the town centre, on the High Street within The Gym or find out more here.
