The Colesbourne Inn, Cheltenham
Who doesn’t enjoy a good old fashioned pub lunch? Especially when that involves good food, log fires, humble surroundings and an outting with the family.
Back in December, for Dad’s birthday we went to The Colesbourne Inn, just outside of Cheltenham. It was on one of those crisp and cold days we had around Christmas, we fully welcomed the warmth of log fires when we arrived.
We were seated in our own section of the pub with our own log fire giving me the opportunity to snap away more than usual.
We all opted for a starter, going for a variety of different things meaning we can all try a bit of each others.
Dad decided it was time to put another log on the fire – before getting told off for doing so.
Luckily the staff forgave us and allowed our mains to be brought out. Phew!
Huge pieces of steak and fish were placed in front of our eyes, along with proper thick pub chips.
We finished the meal with pudding, however I forgot to get a photograph!
Old fashioned English pubs seem to be a dying breed, however The Colesbourne Inn offers a lovely atmosphere with good food at a reasonable price. The only thing we would say is the staff could appear a little happier to be there!
